Quote for August

Waiting until everything is perfect before making a move is like waiting to start a trip until all the traffic lights are green.

The Adventure Begins

Yesterday, I sent the manuscript for my book on clutter to my publisher, Walker & Co. NY.
Amazingly -- they have already sold rights to Canada and Turkey (of all places!) and they have not even seen one word of it yet! I will keep you posted as we find out the title, and when it will be published. If you have a book in your heart, you gotta' write it. This part
of the adventure is SO much fun. Want to be among the very first group to read a sneak preview excerpt? Read on.

Clutter Facts That are too True to Argue

  • Emmettís Basic Clutter Fact: If tomorrow youíve got to get organized, then today youíve got to de-clutter. Understanding, well, actually just BELIEVING this simple fact will make your life so much easier. To try to get organized with clutter surrounding you is so difficult, itís almost impossible. To start getting organized once your clutter is gone is so simple, it almost happens without work or effort on your part. Besides, some people who APPEAR to be organized simply have all their clutter boxed up in nice looking containers. They still donít know what they have and canít find it when they do remember that they have it. They feel organized because their clutter looks neat, but that doesnít reduce or conquer their clutter. It simply shuffles it.

Youíll be able to move towards conquering your clutter as you grasp this concept about getting organized along with a few other simple facts, such as:
  • Emmettís Second Clutter Fact: When you have chaos and clutter in your work or living space, you have chaos and clutter in your mind and in your heart. Thatís a fact. When clutter surrounds you, your mind becomes jumbled; itís hard to focus, hard to decide what your priorities are and what you should be taking care of first, hard to think clearly or to even know what you feel.
  • Emmettís Third Clutter Fact: If you donít have a place to put something, KA-BOOM youíve got clutter. Thatís an undeniable fact. When you look around and find that you donít have enough room for all your stuff, you donít need more room, you need less stuff. Remember the old saying, "A place for everything and everything in its place"? If you can't find a place for something, then it doesn't belong with you. Get rid of it. Pass it on to someone who will appreciate and use it.

Need help getting rid of your clutter? Hang in there, my book (no title yet) will be out in spring:)
