January Quotes to Ponder
And now let us welcome the New Year
Full of things that have never been. -- Rainer Maria Rilke
You are the same today that you are going to be five years from
now except for two things: the people with whom you associate
and the books you read.
--- Charles Jones
We would be well on our way to perfection if we could weed out
one vice from ourselves each year. ---Thomas a'Kempis
"Year by year the complexities of this spinning world grow more
bewildering and so each year we need all the more to seek peace
and
comfort in the joyful simplicities." --Woman's Home Companion,

YIPPEE! YIPPEE! YIPPEE!
Yep, my new book "MANAGE YOUR TIME TO REDUCE YOUR STRESS: A
Handbook for the Overworked, Overscheduled, and Overwhelmed" is
out at book stores TODAY! (I'm just a wee bit excited)
Barnes & Noble is putting it up on a special display of new
arrivals in their stores until January 12, to test if they
"consider it worthy". If it sells well, they will continue to
display it.
The book costs only $13 and if you decide to start off the new
year buying a copy, I beg you to purchase it at B & N BEFORE
January 12th.
Web goddess Mickey tells me that you can order it from B & N
online AND that it is only $11.70. (She is VERY good at finding
bargains.)
If you buy your book at Barnes & Noble by January 12th, simply
reply to this Tip Sheet and let us know and we will be happy to send you these
free gifts:
1. a special downloadable audio of me being interviewed about
the subject of Manage Your Time to Reduce Your Stress.
2. A Special E-Report "While You Take Care Of Others, Who Takes
Care Of YOU?"
3. 20 Great Tips for Self Care
4. 21 Tips to Help Kids Become Clutter Busters
Everyone else wanting to receive this special offer has to send
me their receipt, but you readers of this Tip Sheet are so cool
and have been so loyal & so much fun, I will just trust you.
SO if you purchase my book at B & N by January 12th, click reply &
tell us the date of purchase and the location of where you
bought it and you can download FREE, our very first audio
interview on this subject as well as all the other special
e-reports.
If you don't plan on buying it, it would be a wonderful favor
anytime you are in a book store if you would ask if they have it
in stock. This is what publishers call "Creating a Buzz." Thank
you for any kind thoughts or support you are sending this new
book.
Now let's talk about another product that was released recently:
"THE PROCRASTINATOR'S GUIDE TO AUTHORSHIP"
We want you to know we did not share your name & email address
with anyone. A fellow named Daniel Hall wrote up the email
announcements, sent them to me and to Mickey (our web goddess)
who then sent them out to you. I was afraid he was sending too
many emails to announce it, but I know nothing about marketing
and Daniel does, so we did it his way. He wrote the info page as
if it was written by me because if he wrote it in his name, none
of you know who he is.
I received a call this week from Misha, who is our
daughter-in-law (and also I'm lucky to say, my very good
friend). She saw our info page for the Authorship program and
because she knows me well, she was astonished at "my new writing
style".
She called to tell me that she's freaked out over my new "Sales
Persona". I told her, no, I wrote the text for the program, but
a fellow named Daniel Hall wrote the description page and all
the emails. In fact, Daniel designed the whole description page,
he even picked the shade of green.
She said she was outrageously relieved. I asked what had gone
through her mind.
She had me roaring with laughter as she described her mental
image. She imagined me drinking a Red Bull, then eating a
brownie, then another Red Bull, then a hot fudge sundae, then
another Red Bull; then burning up the keyboard as I banged out
my high-powered-description page and emails.
She said, "Mom, I really thought you were more hyper than we've
ever seen you. Then once I saw the high intensity green you
picked, I was seriously scared."
She knows my favorite color is green and that I wear it whether
it is in style or not. She called the vivid green on the web
page of the "Authorship" product:
"Beyond-the-realm-of-Rita-green"
So for those of you who think I've developed multiple
personalities, no, I've just partnered with someone who is doing
my marketing just for that one product.
Everything else is still "laid-back-marketing". And that's no
Red Bull.
This month's Tip Sheet is getting way too long, so let me close
with a few of the questions pondered in
MANAGE YOUR TIME TO REDUCE YOUR STRESS: A Handbook for the
Overworked, Overscheduled, and Overwhelmed.
Ask yourself:
1. Do I work excessive hours because I'm passionate about my
work or because I'm scared not to?
2. Right now, is my work exhausting or exhilarating?
3. Do I have some source of joy in my life?
4. Am I trying to control something that is beyond my control?
For all of you, we wish you in 2009 great health and wealth, and
the time to enjoy love & laughter with family and friends.
Warmly,
Rita

Here us a very nice review of
MANAGE YOUR TIME TO REDUCE YOUR
STRESS in the 12/17 issue of Publishers Weekly.
"A buoy for those drowning from too much to do, but not enough
time in which to do it, Emmett (The Clutter-Busting Handbook)
focuses on developing self-care and time management skills.
Warning that people should don their own oxygen mask before
assisting others, the author argues persuasively for taking
responsibility for one's own needs and happiness. A mantra of
excellence over perfectionism drives many of the book's lessons,
and work sheets and the author's fresh voice make this slender
volume a quick and thoughtful read."
