The Anticrastination Tip Sheet

Everybody is a Genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is Stupid. ~~ attributed to Albert Einstein

When you have a great and difficult task, something perhaps almost impossible, if you only work a little at a time, every day a little, suddenly the work will finish itself. ~~ Isak Dinesen, author

Message from Rita
Sometimes emails from you, our Perceptive Readers, sound more inspiring and powerful than anything I could say. So here are comments and opinions from a few:

Robert Jordan in Ireland writes:
Hi Rita,
This isn't particularly about decisions but just how the energy comes when you begin.

We're looking to downsize next year and our kids don’t want stuff that we saved because we were sure they wanted it. So now life’s awash with decisions: stuff to get rid of to the dump, to charity shops, to friends. But there are really awkward things like very old and very large wardrobes etc.
Where DO you go with them?

A lady came over from one of the local schools to inspect our home for suitability to house Foreign students. As we sowed a large twin bedroom, I apologised for the extra furniture and said " And this old thing is going out. If you know anyone looking for an old wardrobe, feel free".

She said, "Are you serious? Free?" as she whipped out her phone to photograph it. "My husband loves old furniture and the wonderful wood etc."

Two days later it was gone.
So gone. Yayyy. It's been in that room over 60 years!! One thing leads to another.... but only when you start. So, go start.

Thanks Robert. Many others (including me) have felt the energy that often appears when clutter-busting begins.

Here’s a fun comment on a different subject from Keith in Michigan.
Dear Rita,
We love your ebook,
Farkle Shark, You Are Not Stupid. Both my boys read it with me BUT they don't want to hear me. We all listen to the audio you include with it. They love the bubble sounds you make to turn the page and in the car our 4-year old has us practice "bubblizing" for the next time we read it.

At work, we are switching to a new computer system. We all feel stupid, so I'm getting a copy of "Farkle" for my 5 co-workers.
One complaint - both the boys and I want a "real book" to read. Not just the ebook. Can you do that with Farkle?
Keith in Michigan

Well Keith, It took quite a while, but the print book is now available on Amazon. Thanks for the positive comments and the nudge to turn it into a “real book”

And “dk” sends a terrific suggestion for getting rid of clothes you don’t need or wear.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE KICK IN THE X?X?X?X?X? to getting rid of my junk. I have soooooo many extra clothes and have been taking them to a nursing home. Most of the people there cannot get out to buy new clothes and sometimes their laundry gets delayed so that they have to wear hospital gowns during the day. I have been rewarded with many smiles as I take bags of clothes to residents in this facility.

Thanks dk, I never thought of nursing homes.

Hope you found some of these thoughts from your fellow Perceptive Readers to be helpful and encouraging.
