Quote for July

If price is the best thing about something, you should not buy it. Ever. — Peter Walsh

WHEN IS A GOOD DEAL NOT A GOOD DEAL?

A friend was explaining how much she loves a great bargain. She had a FREE massage table from Freecycle.

She is not (and is not becoming) a massage therapist. She does not have a massage therapist come to her home. She has not used it in years and doesn't plan to use it at any time in the future.
But she loves it. Because it was a good deal.

Sometimes, I believe we MUST ask the question: "When is a good deal NOT a good deal?"

Answer: When you use hard earned cash that could better be used elsewhere
to purchase something you don't need or use
that will add to your clutter
which in turn adds to guilt, embarrassment, anxiety and shame,
and takes up space in your life that you wish it didn't take up and SOMETIMES actually prevents that space from being used for its intended purpose.

If you used cash for that bargain item-you-don't-need-or-use, but you wish you had cash to:
end your debts,
set up a college or retirement fund,
pay off a car or a house,
upgrade your car or remodel your house
live a better lifestyle or
donate to a worthy cause,
then it was not a good deal. And it certainly was not the best use of your hard earned cash.

If you brought into your life a bargain item that you don't need or use
and doesn't even have a place to belong
and takes up room that you don't want taken up
or prevents you from using something for its purpose (such as the dining room table …. or … the floor).
then it was not a good deal.

If that bargain contributes to clutter that you don't like and makes you feel crummy, then it was not a good deal.

If that bargain is something that you don't need or use
but somebody somewhere on this planet (including you)
at some place in time in the future
might want it,
let's be realistic. You will probably forget that you have it or if you DO remember you have it, you can't find it…. because of all the clutter in your life.
So it was not a good deal.

Recently, a friend wrote "Clutter isn't clutter when you first buy it or bring it into the house."
Yes, it is.
Seriously?
Need I say more??

Back to the first words of "Answer": When you use hard earned cash that could better be used elsewhere to purchase something we don't need or use", then it's clutter when you buy it, when you bring it home, and as long as it is in your life. No matter HOW good a deal it was.

Usually I include several quotes on Tip Sheets, but this time only one. Because it says a lot, doesn't it?

There's no way to guarantee this, but many people report that when they begin clutter-busting and STOP buying "good deals", their clutter AND their financial debt starts to diminish and their energy increases.

NOW -- starting today -- every time you see a great bargain, it's time to start asking "When is a good deal not a good deal?"
Warmly,
Rita

GREAT DEAL that really IS a Good Deal - FREE TRAINING
If you are (or want to be) an author, speaker, coach, consultant, trainer or are in business for yourself then I have some very good news for you and it's called....
Google Hangouts On Air
Here's the story...
Recently I was chatting with my friend Daniel Hall who was telling me that you can use Hangouts On Air to connect with your audience and interact with them in real time. It's kind of like having a broadcast television show where you and your business are the stars!

What's so cool is that you can use Hangouts On Air to reach thousands of (potentially new) prospects, friends and buyers for FREE. There is a problem though. Hangouts On Air can be a wee bit tricky to set up and run. But Daniel told me it was easy when you know how.

Daniel has solved problems with Hangouts and put all his know-how into a brand new video training course called "Hangouts On Air Explained"

He then went on to offer his stellar new training FOR FREE -- Of course, when I heard it was free and knowing what I know about the quality of Daniel's training I jumped at the chance to get this deal out to you!

Here's the rub...
If you're interested in top-notch training on how to get started using Hangouts On Air, I strongly encourage you to watch this video: http://www.danielhallpresents.com/hangouts-explained/ It's free & I recommend you go to this as soon as possible because Daniel is thinking of putting a price tag on the training soon - so don't procrastinate, act now before he does.
